Race The Dragon for Bobath in 2010!

Bobath is looking for teams to enter this fun filled and dynamic day of Dragon Boat Racing in both Swansea on the 20th June and Cardiff on the 12th September.

We set sail for the first time in Swansea’s fantastic SA1 Waterfront area and it is sure to be a very colourful and action packed day. Bobath is teaming up with the South Wales Boat Show for this event so the day really will be a spectacle.

This will be the second year that we will be setting sail in the Atlantic Wharf waters, Cardiff Bay. Last years event was a great success and fun was had by all. The teams raised in excess of £12,000 and we hope that 2010 will be an even greater success.

We are looking for teams of 11 passionate paddlers to participate. Maybe you are a company, social group or club and would like to participate. All we ask is that you are over the age of 12 (children under 16 will require parental consent) and can paddle or beat a drum.

The racing takes place over one day and each team, often in fancy dress, will take part in a minimum of 3 races over a 250 metre stretch of water. The teams with the fastest times will go through to the grand final. All equipment including the dragon boat, paddles and life jackets are provided by our team of dragon boat experts.

Big Fun Run
Sunday 29th August 2010, 11am
Bute Park, Cardiff

Join the Staff and Supporters of Bobath at The Big Fun Run Cardiff. The 5km course will circle Bute Park, giving fantastic views of Cardiff Castle and surrounding areas. Entries are open to people of all ages, although children under 13 must walk the course and be accompanied by an adult. Run, walk or jog it’s up to you!

Enter online at www.bigfunrun.com choosing Bobath as your chosen charity.

You will receive sponsor forms once registered, and on the day of the event everyone gets a ‘Big Fun Medal’ and goodie bag.

 

Bobath Charity Golf Day
Friday 24th September 2010
Cottrell Park Golf Resort

Join us for a great day’s golf at our annual Charity Golf Day, on Friday 24th September on the MacKintosh Course at the beautiful Cottrell Park Golf Resort. Entry per team of four is £285.00 to include coffee and bacon rolls on arrival and a 2 course presentation dinner where the competition winners will be announced.

Tee-off times will be from 12.00pm and individuals can compete in nearest the pin and longest drive competitions. Whether you choose to come with friends, business colleagues or corporate clients this is sure to be a great day!

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week

From the 10th – 17th October 2010 Bobath will be celebrating its fourth Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week. Following the success of last year’s Wicked Welly Week, we have decided to boot up once again in 2010 and make a splash for cash! The aim of the week is to help increase the public’s awareness of cerebral palsy and of Bobath therapy across Wales. We want to have a little fun while we do this and we hope that you can get involved with our wacky welly ideas. So let’s fill our boots for Bobath whilst reminding people of the real facts of cerebral palsy.

Strictly Bobath
Saturday 16th October 2010
Ararat Church Hall, Whitchurch, Cardiff

You’ve seen the celebrities having a go and now it’s your chance to put on some dancing shoes and try a variety of dance styles. You’ll be challenged to take part in Latin, Ballroom and Line Dancing workshops, all taught by dance professionals. There will then be a grand finale, with a specially choreographed ‘Mamma Mia’ dance routine.

Strictly for Anyone

This unique all day dance challenge is open to everyone. It really doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced before as it’s all about having a go and having fun. You don’t need a partner, so you could come along on your own or with a friend.

Be a dancing queen and raise some money, money, money...

The registration fee for ‘Strictly Bobath’ is £15 per person and this fantastic full day’s dance experience includes:

• Learning three different styles of dance
• lunch and refreshments
• A chance to participate in a specially choreographed routine

We ask everyone taking part to raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship, so your dance steps really will make a difference!

 

Cardiff Half Marathon
Saturday 17th October

What better way of seeing all the top tourist attractions of Cardiff than running in this year’s Cardiff Half Marathon? This 13 mile run takes its participants around vibrant Cardiff Bay, through the historic heart of the city centre and pass national monuments such as Cardiff Castle and City Hall.

The course is flat and fast, so makes the perfect first half-marathon or a great opportunity for a personal best.

Bobath is looking for people to join its team for this year’s Cardiff Half Marathon. All you need to do is register online, and contact the Bobath fundraising team and we will send you some sponsorship forms, a running vest and some useful fundraising tips to get you started.

 

Winter Wonderland Christmas Party Night
Friday 3rd December 2010
The New House Hotel, Cardiff

Enjoy a fun-filled, festive evening with your friends, family or colleagues whilst helping to raise vital funds for Bobath. The party night will commence at 7pm and will include a delicious 3 course dinner, coffee and mince pies, followed by dancing and some festive fun.

The 4 star New House Hotel on Thornhill Road, Cardiff is a fabulous location for a celebration. With its fantastic views over the city and Vale of Glamorgan and its award winning cuisine, it really is the perfect Christmas party venue.

Could you fall for us?

If you would like to experience the unrivalled thrill of freefalling through the sky from 10,000 feet, then why not jump for Bobath. Absolutely no experience is necessary as all training is given by professional instructors and what’s more – if you raise over £395 you jump for free!

London Marathon
Sunday 17th April 2011

Bobath has been allocated a Silver Bond Place for the 2011 London Marathon. As there is sure to be a lot of interest we have decided to hold a draw. If you would like to enter the draw and be considered for this place please contact the Bobath fundraising team. The draw will close on the 31st August 2010. Please note, the lucky supporter who wins this coveted place will be required to raise £1,500.00 in sponsorship.
